Biography

Richard Asselin is running to be your Calgary Director of the United Conservative Party. Richard first got involved in conservative politics, when he joined the Reform Party of Canada at age 18. He ran and was elected as a School Trustee, and also worked as a Constituency Assistant for a local MP. Although born and raised in the Vancouver area, he moved to Alberta after being inspired by the “can-do” attitude towards self-sufficiency, freedom and prosperity that Albertans hold. He worked in senior sales roles for many years, before helping several tech start up companies launch. He is currently the president and founder of a Calgary based fleet management company.

Richard and his wife have been happily married for 31 years and have 5 children together. Richard is an avid hiker, camper and hunter.

Richard is running because he wants to see your voice as a Calgarian represented by the Party. As Calgary director Richard will bring years of organizing experience, knowledge of local politics and that Albertan “can-do” attitude. Richard is a staunch conservative and a supporter of our Premier Danielle Smith. His focus these next two years will be on helping re-elect a UCP government.
