2019 Election Readiness Conference in Edmonton - FAQs

Do I have to be a member to attend? All members of the UCP with a valid membership is eligible to attend.

I am not a member but wish to attend the conference, what can I register for? We are offering an Observer pass for $500 which will allow access to plenary hall Friday and Saturday evening programs only and includes lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Observers will NOT be allowed into daily information and training sessions. These sessions will be open to members only.

Will I get a tax credit for my payment of the Registration Fee? No, Registration Fees paid by members to attend an event hosted by a registered political party in Alberta do not qualify as an eligible expense for Alberta’s Political Contribution Tax Credit.

Are members under 18 allowed to attend? Yes, UCP members 14 years and older are welcome to attend.

  • Please note children 17 years of age and under must always be accompanied by an adult.

Who qualifies for the UCP Student Member price? A UCP Member with a valid membership that is at least 14 years of age and currently enrolled in an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution. Please provide proof of age and enrollment upon badge pick at the Conference (current student ID card with photo will be accepted).

I have special dietary needs – will these be available? We will do our best to accommodate special dietary needs. Please indicate your dietary restrictions when you register. Please be sure to identify yourself to a server at meal time. 

Do you need volunteers for this event? A team of member volunteers will be called upon to assist with this event. Callout to occur in mid-January via email.

Do I need to be a member to volunteer? Yes.

As a volunteer will all my expenses be paid? No, you will receive a Complimentary Conference Package which includes 3-Day Admission and Lunches. Your travel to Edmonton and accommodations will not paid for by the UCP.
