We must stand up for the jobs and families that depend on our energy industry.
Justin Trudeau's Liberal government violated Alberta's constitutional jurisdiction by adding upstream and downstream emissions to the pipeline approval process for the Energy East pipeline - thereby killing the $16 billion project last year.
Now, Justin Trudeau's Liberals want to make it a permanent part of all future reviews. According to the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association, "This makes it difficult to imagine that a new major pipeline could be built in Canada."
We can't let this happen to the jobs and families that depend on our energy industry.
Unfortunately, Alberta's NDP government doesn't dare stand up to their Trudeau Liberal allies in Ottawa.
Tell the NDP to pass Motion 505 in the Legislature, calling on the Trudeau Liberal government to respect Alberta's constitutional jurisdiction by keeping upstream and downstream emissions out of the pipeline approval process.
