Biography

Peter Sandhu is a dedicated and experienced leader within Alberta’s political landscape, having served as the Progressive Conservative MLA for Edmonton Manning from 2008 to 2015. With a strong record of public service and community engagement, Peter is running for Vice President of Membership for the United Conservative Party. Throughout his career, he has been a tireless advocate for his constituents, championing economic growth, small businesses, and community development while upholding the values of integrity and accountability in governance. In 2005, Peter’s contributions were recognized when he was appointed as a Centennial Ambassador for Alberta’s 100th anniversary celebrations, highlighting his commitment to promoting the province’s rich history and cultural heritage.

Currently serving as the UCP President for Edmonton Meadows and having previously held the same role for Edmonton South, Peter is no stranger to the intricacies of building a robust and dynamic party membership. His decades-long involvement in the party, dating back to 1986, underscores his unwavering commitment to fostering a strong conservative movement in Alberta. As a past president of the Sikh Federation of Edmonton, Peter has always prioritized creating an inclusive environment for diverse voices within the political discourse, ensuring that all Albertans have a seat at the table.
