About Naresh

My name is Naresh Bhardwaj and I’m proud to be running as your UCP candidate in the upcoming by-election.
 
I’ve lived in Edmonton for 49 years. I raised my family here, taught at J. Percy Page High School, coached soccer, and was honoured to serve as your MLA for Edmonton-Ellerslie from 2008 to 2015. I was also honoured to serve as a Cabinet Minister, where I worked hard to improve support for all Albertans.
 
As a business owner, I also understand the challenges that local entrepreneurs face. I will use my decades of experience at the Government table as we work to strengthen Alberta’s economy and support small businesses.
 
As a former teacher, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of strong public education. Whether in the classroom, at the Legislature, or in the community, I’ve always advocated for students, parents and teachers. During my time as an MLA, I helped get funding for local schools, supported youth mentorship programs, and worked to make sure every child had the chance to succeed.
 
I’m running because I believe that Edmonton-Ellerslie deserves a strong and experienced voice in the Government to help grow and diversify our economy, advocate for an inclusive education system, support more efficient healthcare, keep our streets safe and support newcomers while recognizing foreign credentials. That’s exactly what I plan to do by bringing a strong, experienced voice to the Legislature.
 
I would be honoured to earn your support as someone with a proven track record who listens, works hard, delivers results and advocates for all Albertans.
