WHEREAS the NDP-Liberal energy production cap is a reckless, unconstitutional disaster that will destroy over 150,000 jobs, cut oil production by one million barrels a day, and drain billions from Alberta’s economy;

AND WHEREAS Danielle Smith and the United Conservative Party are invoking the Sovereignty Act to:

• Stop Ottawa’s unconstitutional power grab and defend Alberta’s exclusive jurisdiction over its resources.
• Block federal officials from stepping foot on Alberta oil and gas facilities unless allowed by the province.
• Lock down emissions data to stop Ottawa from twisting the facts to push their anti-energy agenda.
• Declare oil and gas facilities as essential infrastructure to protect the backbone of Alberta’s economy.

AND WHEREAS they are taking further bold action to:

• Fight Ottawa’s regulations with a constitutional challenge to defend Alberta’s rights and jobs.
• Collaborate with other provinces, the U.S., and First Nations to double Alberta’s pipeline capacity and get our energy to global markets where it belongs.
• Expand Royalty-in-Kind programs so Alberta markets its resources on Alberta’s terms.

THEREFORE, WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, demand the NDP-Liberals scrap their disastrous energy production cap immediately. As proud Albertans, we will not allow them to destroy our jobs, rob our families, or crush our future. We stand with Danielle Smith and her plan to fight this every step of the way.
