More Albertans are working. New numbers out on October 9 show Alberta added 23,100 jobs in September, the biggest gain in the country.
They were full-time jobs, too. Alberta added 25,800 full-time jobs that month, while Canada as a whole lost 68,000 jobs.
Unemployment is down. Alberta’s rate fell to 6.4 per cent, below the national average of 6.5 per cent. For young people, the rate dropped to 12.5 per cent. That’s the lowest since October 2023, and lower than the national average.
This is no fluke. Since Danielle Smith was elected Premier, Alberta has gained more than 300,000 jobs. Your United Conservative government brought in business-friendly policies that welcome investment and help businesses grow, and job creators, investors and workers are betting on Alberta.
We make up just 12 per cent of Canada’s population, but we’re creating jobs faster than any other major province. Alberta is also projected to lead economic growth, at almost three times the national average.
More jobs, lower unemployment and a growing economy. That’s your United Conservative government getting the job done.
Excellent news for Alberta in the monthly Labour Force Survey today.
