Premier Danielle Smith is taking bold action to secure Alberta’s energy future. Alberta will act as the proponent for a new West Coast pipeline, leading the work to deliver more of our responsibly produced oil to global markets.
With $14 million committed, a technical advisory group is being formed with major pipeline companies and Indigenous partners. From Day 1, Indigenous communities in both Alberta and British Columbia are involved in planning, ownership, and decision-making.
This project is about unlocking Canada’s full economic potential. With the right infrastructure, Canada can move from being an energy powerhouse to an energy superpower.
Early planning will determine the route, size, and costs of the project, while building the case that this pipeline is in the national interest. Indigenous voices will shape every step, ensuring true partnership and lasting opportunity for communities along the way.
Canada already has the fourth-largest oil reserves in the world, and demand for ethical energy is rising. A West Coast pipeline means more jobs, more prosperity, and more strength for Alberta and for Canada.
Premier Smith and United Conservatives are proving once again that Alberta is ready to lead, delivering the energy the world needs, responsibly and proudly.
