Biography

Jennifer Johnson was elected May 29, 2023, as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta representing the constituency of Lacombe-Ponoka.

She is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing.

Mrs. Johnson is the owner and operator of a successful prairie fruit orchard, which has been in business since 2009, and was previously a registered nurse.

Mrs. Johnson is extremely active in her community, and she has been a director for the Bentley Agricultural Society since 2008. She also served as the director and president of Canadian Cherry Producers Inc., chair of the Bentley and Area Multi-use Facility Building Society, and club leader for the Bentley 4-H Multiclub.

Mrs. Johnson has received two awards from the Centre for Learning @ Home: family of the year (2022) and parent of distinction (2023). She has also published a children’s book titled Cherries – Just Right!

She was born in Calgary, Alberta, and is married with four children. Mrs. Johnson graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of science in nursing. She enjoys spending time in her fruit orchard, listening to music and participating in agricultural advocacy.
