Yellowhead Pipeline breaks ground in Alberta

More jobs and new investment, right here in Alberta. On October 13, ground was broken on the $2.9-billion Yellowhead natural gas pipeline. It’s another pipeline getting built in Alberta, because your United Conservative government is creating the conditions to get projects like this done.

Building the 235 kilometres of pipeline and facilities is expected to support around 2,000 jobs. Once it’s complete, it will add more than one billion cubic feet per day of natural gas transportation capacity.

What does that mean for you? Alberta’s Industrial Heartland needs reliable energy to grow, and this pipeline helps deliver it. More reliable natural gas means more industry, more economic activity and more opportunities for the next generation.

It’s also bringing new investment. This one project will enable about $20 billion of investments in Alberta, including the DOW Fort Saskatchewan Path2Zero project. It will support petrochemicals, manufacturing, hydrogen, data centres and power generation.

That doesn’t happen by accident. Companies are choosing Alberta because Premier Danielle Smith has made it clear Alberta is open for business, and we’ll keep backing the infrastructure that creates jobs and builds lasting prosperity.

Pipelines in the ground, jobs and investment. That’s your United Conservative government getting the job done for Albertans.
