New and upgraded schools for your kids, sooner. On July 9, your United Conservative government sped up 41 school projects through the Schools Now program, so much-needed schools reach Alberta communities sooner.
These projects will deliver more than 39,000 new and upgraded student spaces across the province. Of them, 19 are now approved for construction funding, while another 22 are moving from planning into design. Speeding them up will cut more than nine months off project timelines.
The projects reach right across Alberta, with 16 in Calgary and 11 in Edmonton, new schools in Airdrie, Brooks and Chestermere, and projects from Red Deer and St. Albert to Fort McMurray and Fairview.
With more than 90,000 students joining Alberta’s schools in just four years, your United Conservative government launched the $8.6-billion Schools Now program in September 2024 to build and renovate schools as quickly as possible. Under Premier Smith, we’re getting schools built faster, and Schools Now will deliver about 200,000 new and modernized student spaces by 2031-32.
More schools, faster builds and more room for your kids to learn. That’s your United Conservative government getting the job done.
