Safer communities for your family and your business. On May 28, your United Conservative government put nearly $8 million into the fight against organized crime, extortion and gangs across Alberta.
The one-time funding goes to the Edmonton Police Service, the Calgary Police Service, the Alberta RCMP and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams. It pays for surveillance, intelligence and digital forensic equipment to help police track down and break up criminal networks.
Organized crime doesn’t stop at city limits. The money also helps city, provincial and federal police work together against gangs that cross those lines, so towns, farms and remote communities are safer too.
Part of it goes after extortion aimed at South Asian business owners in Calgary and Edmonton. Families and business owners have been threatened and intimidated, and they deserve to feel safe.
We’re giving police the tools they need to take down criminal networks and keep Albertans safe.
Better tools for police, more teamwork and safer communities. That’s your United Conservative government getting the job done.
Organized crime has no place in Alberta.
