Jordan Walker is a former Member of the Legislative Assembly for Sherwood Park who has dedicated his career to serving Alberta and its people. He lives in Sherwood Park with his wife, Shizuko, and their Australian cattle dog, Kai. Jordan holds degrees with concentrations in political science, history, and international relations. Earlier in his career, he spent a year living in Japan as an English teacher, an experience that strengthened his appreciation for international engagement and the opportunities it creates for Alberta.
Elected as MLA for Sherwood Park from 2019 to 2023, Jordan worked to deliver meaningful results for the community. He helped secure investments for new schools, playgrounds, healthcare infrastructure, Industrial Heartland development, and hospital expansion planning. As a member of Treasury Board, he contributed to Budget 2023 and advocated for balanced budgets and competitive taxes. Jordan also successfully championed legislation expanding bereavement leave to include miscarriage and stillbirth, providing greater compassion and support for grieving families. Throughout his public service, he consistently supported parental rights, school choice, and policies aimed at strengthening Alberta’s economy.
Active in local politics for more than a decade, Jordan has served on several constituency association boards and played a key role locally in unifying Alberta’s conservative movement. Today, he works in investment attraction, helping bring private investment and new opportunities to Alberta.
Jordan remains committed to building a prosperous Alberta within a strong and united Canada, while preparing the province to succeed in an increasingly competitive global economy.
