Michelle is a dynamic business and governance professional with a diverse background in business development, financial management, and neuroscience research. She is the Managing Director of Horizon6, a capital corporation that partners with founders and stakeholders to unlock the potential of unique businesses and emerging sectors.
Her experience includes co-founding an international oilfield start-up, where she oversaw major initiatives such as a $56 million equipment build in China and led contract negotiations and operational management for complex international projects. She served as a Corporate Banker for the Oil & Gas sector, evaluating energy firms, assessing industry trends, and analyzing risk. Additionally, Michelle has consulted across technology and research roles, including managing neuroscience research projects at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute.
She currently serves on the boards of Bridges Calgary Association, the Calgary-Heritage EDA, and the Calgary Glenmore CA, contributing her expertise in strategic planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
Michelle holds a Master of Science in Neuroscience, a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and is a certified PMP and Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist.
