Nobody knows your kids like you do. You should know how they’re doing at school and have a say when something isn’t right.
Sometimes that’s harder than it should be. The report card that leaves you with more questions than answers. The PD day where the kids are home and you’re left wondering what it was for. The concern you raised with the school that just went nowhere.
Bill 35 puts parents back at the centre of their children’s education.
Report cards would follow clear standards across the province, so you get a straight answer on how your child is doing, wherever you live. Your local school board would still decide how they look.
Schools would have to tell families what happens on PD days and other days off, so you know how that time is being used.
And if a concern goes nowhere at your school, you would have somewhere to go next. School boards would need a clear process to hear you out, and the province plans an online tool to help families find their way.
Your kids, your voice, your schools. That’s what Bill 35 is about, and that’s your United Conservative government getting the job done.
Parents play an important role in their children's education, and having clear information helps them stay informed and involved.
