RJ Sigurdson serves as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Highwood and the Minister of Affordability and Utilities. First elected on April 16, 2019, and re-elected on May 29, 2023, he brings a strong work ethic and deep community roots to his public service.
During his time in the legislature, RJ has taken on several key leadership roles, previously serving as the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation and the Parliamentary Secretary for EMS Reform.
Before entering public office, RJ worked as a senior project manager and shareholder at Avalanche Air Systems, drawing on his extensive experience as a Red Seal sheet metal worker. Having grown up working on a 40-acre family farm north of Cochrane, he understands the value of hard work and remains deeply connected to his community.
An active volunteer with organizations like Shriners International, RJ and his wife, Leeanne, have been married for over 10 years and are raising three children. In his free time, he enjoys camping, fishing, and hunting with his family.
